Christopher turns 5!

My Goodness...Little Chris is 5! He has been practicing being 5 for 2 weeks...he is being more helpful with Andrew and offering to do big kid stuff! He keeps telling me, I'm not a toddler anymore, I'm a kid! It's super cute!

The birthday boy got to choose what was for dinner...he chose:

He completed a mini scavenger hunt to find his birthday gift:

He got a new bmx style bike with pegs (these are for performing bike stunts...)

Happy Birthday 5th Christopher! We Love you!!!

My funny writer...

I have not had the time or means to post in such a while, I do have a list of what I want to post, and am sure I will get around to it soon! Dave has been working non-stop & traveling for weeks...and it is just me and 4 little ones and the craziness of wrapping up the end of the school year (parties, gifts, ceremonies, events...)

I just wanted to quickly write this post as it does not require any photographs or anything. So back to the title.. My funny writer:

Today, I dedicated a few hours to clearing out the school year stuff. Cleaned out the homework drawer and basket, and cleared through the MASSIVE amounts of papers, art and books that the kids are bringing home daily in their backpacks!!!!

I came across Sarah's school journal notebook. This is nothing private like her private journal in her bedroom, just a notebook that they write in when they have a few minutes in the morning of class. I started reading through it, seems like she wrote about 3 times a week.

I knew...know that Sarah is a good writer, her spelling, vocabulary and grammar are incredible and she is also an EXCELLENT reader. But, what was proved to me tonight as I sat here reading ( thought I would just read only a few since I still have a kitchen floor to mop, run the dishwasher, move the laundry into the dryer, vacuum and get the day ready for tomorrow...) ...sorry back to what was proved to me while reading all these entries...she is quite funny in her writing. I was so entertained while reading that I had to share a few,  especially since I know that at least Grandma and Aunt Kerry are reading this!

Hmmm...i have nothing really to write about...so...
Why Do Zebras Have Stripes?
I have nooooooooooooo clue why zebras have stripes.
I mean its like asking why the Museum of Natural History is sooo big
or why a mouse is so little!

Today is Tuesday. I am buying Tacos!
I am buying the turkey tacos and not the vegetarian tacos.
They are just made up of veggies and NO MEAT!
It is really wrong to do that to a taco!

Today is Thursday. I have gym today and we are riding the scooters.
Rachel is telling the story of how we met in her journal today.
If you want to know....then go read her journal...'cause I'm not telling her story!

Friday, finally!!!
The Week seemed to go on forever!
Imagine if it was Monday after Monday after Monday...
That would be HORRIBLE!! There would be no weekends!
What's a week with no weekends??

So...there just a few shared entries... hope you enjoyed!

I will post soon of Memorial Day weekend, Chris's 5th Birthday, Moving up ceremonies, potty training, the huge leak in our in ground pool, etc. Next week...I play catch up on my personal things... right now..the last few weeks have been only about survival...! LOL

Memorial Day Weekend

Behind on posts...but don't want to skip all the good since this is my so called "journal" and I would love to see it "mostly" complete! :)

The 2011 Memorial Day ~ Weekend was fantastic...as always! We always head up to the "Cabin in the Woods" with all the cousins, brothers & sisters and grandparents! This year, we even had cousin Thomas with us which is always fun for the kids!  They played on the play yard (built by Grandpa, David & Kevin), walked the trails, visited the neighbors farm animals, swam in the community pool, caught frogs & bugs, and ate a ton of yummy BBQ!!!

Here's a look at our weekend:

Sarah with Liam @ his Communion                  Sarah loving her cousin Lily !

All cousins thrilled for this one!                 Girls loving up with their cousin Risa!

Then there was the festive Memorial Day celebration!

First of many big family kickball games... oh, & the BBQ...yummmm:

Wheels are enjoyed by most all!

Bugs were discovered & captured (only temporarily) !

Oh my...isn't it amazing...

how much you can LOVE your kids?!
I will never know what my husband AKA life partner, AKA my love, AKA my BFF, AKA my kids father...does, behind my back to get the kids to laugh like this. He never tells me ~ they never tell me & when I turn around, he stops doing whatever it is that he is doing and gives me the most hilarious smirk on his face. Whatever it is that he is doing...i will certainly always appreciate as it allows me to capture these perfectly perfect, loving, sweet, funny and silly kids in action!

I think I will now change my blog title pic from the one below to the above one since I love it!!!!
